Shipping policy

When we ship

At Talking Hens, we ship our products every business day (Monday through to Friday, excluding Public Holidays), throughout Australia. All online orders will generally be shipped on the same day if received before 8am. We will email you as soon as possible if there is any problem or issue with your order. 

Who we ship with

The majority of our products are shipped with Australia Post using their eParcel service. For some interstate and regional deliveries, we use TNT. 

Delivery times

Standard delivery times will vary depending on where you are located but as a guide: Melbourne metro will take approximately 3 to 7 business days, regional Victoria will take 7 to 10 days, interstate cities will take 5 to 14 days and non-Victorian regional areas can take between 10 and 22 days.

Express delivery

You have the option of selecting Express shipping at checkout and this will normally reduce the standard delivery times by a business day. As an example, Melbourne metro orders will normally be delivered within 3 business days if ordered before 8am.

Authority To Leave

Our packages are shipped “Authority To Leave in a Safe/Dry Location at your Front Door” unless you specify otherwise in your order notes. Your Australia Post courier driver will take a photo of your delivery to verify that the package has been delivered and the exact location of delivery. You can ask to see the photo taken by calling Australia Post on 137 678

Missing packages

If you have ordered multiple products at the same time, you may receive your products on different days due to the Australia Post logistical algorithm. You will normally receive your subsequent products on the next business day. If you have not received your entire order within three business days, follow your tracking link to contact the courier for an explanation.

Order tracking

A number of Emails will be sent from our Shopify website along with one or more of the associated shipping apps (Easy Routes, Addition or Australia Post), to let you know that your package is on its way and include full tracking information. Keep an eye out for the tracking details to come through following your purchase and check your SPAM filter if you don’t receive them. You may also receive an email or text message with delivery progress information from one or more of the shipping apps.

Included in your tracking email will be a tracking number which enables you to find further information on any delay or issue with your package(s). This is often the best place to start if you are concerned about the delivery taking longer than expected. However, don’t hesitate to contact us at Talking Hens if you have any concerns.
