What our customers say

5.0 from 1,250+ Google reviews and 250+ Facebook recommendations

The Cream Legbar was developed at Cambridge University in England in the 1930s and 1940s by crossing Leghorns, Barred Rocks and Araucanas. The Araucana side gave her two of her best features, the crest and those beautiful blue eggs.

She's a light, athletic bird and a reliable layer, with most hens laying around 180 to 200 blue to blue-green eggs a year. The shade varies from hen to hen, which turns collecting the eggs into a little treasure hunt.

Cream Legbars are busy and inquisitive. They're happiest with room to scratch and explore, and they settle well with gentle, regular handling from an early age.

Give them a secure, fox-proof coop, a covered run and plenty to forage through, and they'll keep you entertained for years.

If you love the idea of blue eggs on the breakfast table, give us a call and we'll tell you which ages we have.

Live birds are collected from our farm at 3590 Frankston-Flinders Road, Merricks. We're open 10am to 4pm every day, including most public holidays.

We don’t deliver or post live birds. Please contact us before you visit so we can confirm the ages, numbers and availability.

We can provide secure, fully ventilated chick or chicken carriers able to safely transport three chickens in each. We’ll talk you through settling your new chooks in at home, and we’re only a phone call away afterwards.
