Frequently Asked Questions
Shipping
Delivery time depends on your location and the shipping method you choose. We dispatch orders every business day (excludes weekends and public holidays), with online orders generally shipped the same day if received before 8 am.
Once dispatched, standard delivery will arrive within approximately:
- Melbourne metro: 3–5 business days
- Regional Victoria: 7–10 business days
- Interstate cities: 5–14 business days
- Non-Victorian regional areas: 10–22 business days
If you select express shipping at checkout, this will normally reduce the arrival date by one to two business days.
Once your order has shipped, you will receive tracking details via email from our delivery service. Included in this email is your full tracking information including a tracking number and phone number, enabling you to speak directly with the courier to find further information if your package if taking longer than expected. Don’t hesitate to contact the team at Talking Hens if you have any questions or concerns.
We offer a range of shipping options to ensure your order arrives on time and in great condition. Deliveries to the Mornington Peninsula and many southeastern suburbs of Melbourne are normally completed by our own Talking Hens delivery van every Tuesday and Friday. For all other locations, orders are shipped with the courier you select at checkout.
If you have ordered multiple products at the same time, you may receive your products on different days due to the Australia Post logistical algorithm. Subsequent products will normally arrive on the next business day; if you have not received your entire order within three business days, use the tracking link delivered to your email to follow up with the courier.
As always, feel free to contact Talking Hens if you require any additional assistance.
If your order hasn’t shipped yet, we may be able to change the delivery address. Please contact us as soon as possible to make any changes. We are unable to change the delivery address once your order has shipped, so please ensure you check your delivery address and details carefully before submitting your order to avoid disappointment.
We take great care in packaging our products to ensure they arrive in perfect condition. However, if your order is damaged during shipment, please contact us immediately with photos so that we can quickly resolve the issue.

Some products can be packed into a single carton to save on shipping charges and this will be reflected in the shipping amount calculated at the checkout. Some products, such as chicken feed, are heavy products and can’t be consolidated.

We are happy for you to return your product for any reason within 14 days of purchase if it is still in original packaging, clean, and unused. You will need to provide the original receipt and be aware that live hens cannot be returned for any reason due to biosecurity concerns.
Due to the nature of our products, we do not offer returns due to change of mind after this 14 day period. If your product falls outside our returns policy, please contact us for a chat about your situation and reasons for wanting to return your product as we are very open to feedback.
